Scone hunting

Today we went out on Betsy for the afternoon. Betsy is an ancient 'mountain' bike whose sole purpose now is to ferry small toddler types to and from various destinations and provide some sort of exercise for me when at home with Jnr, home due for half term, who can't keep up yet on his own bike or run five miles. Well, actually, he probably could run five miles but he'd also likely beat me so that's a race thats never going to happen y'hear!

So late morning we set off for Banchory along the Deeside Way, stopping to discuss trains at Crathes, quarrying, whether fishermen really do need to stand in the water up to their waists and othersuch important things on the mind of a four year old. Spot of lunch and a scone (which never materialised because they looked burnt so settled for an alternative, boo!) in one of the 17 trillion teashops in Banchory with a mate, visit to bike shop and a play in the park before setting of home again via Milton of Crathes to watch the waterwheel.

Really lovely few hours, we got home at 5pm just before the skies opened and with added bonus of 16 miles hauling 18kg of toddler, I think I may have burnt off my Friday fruit slice.
